Professions who depend on tips but receive insufficient tips

Even though someone is getting paid to do a job, it’s still nice to offer them a little more, especially if their jobs are difficult and they haven’t stolen all of your electronics. Here are some professions that you probably ought to tip but don’t.
The guy who helps to put groceries in the bag in the Mall.
One of the professions that work really hard expecting to get a tip but end up getting little or no tip at all is those who help you put groceries in the bag when you visit a shopping mall. These people are often humble and help lots of shoppers put groceries in the bags on a daily basis, but they don’t get tips equivalent to the rate of work that they do. Most individuals have this mindset that it is only bar attendants and waiters that should be tipped, and this may be the reason many people do not tip people working in other professions.
FedEx guy delivering a huge package
Employees at FedEx have amazing jobs! They are paid well, have benefits, and have everything! And such, salaried workers shouldn’t expect tips, right? It depends, much like the brand of diapers you’ll buy for yourself in 40 years. No, not for most bundles. However, I have undoubtedly received large, hefty packages from FedEx that a brave delivery person hauled up four flights of stairs. They deserve even more in the summer.
Then how much? $5-$10. It will be enough to purchase a beer and some Icy Hot at the end of the day.
Parking lot worker at home improvement store
Big boxes, which house items like air conditioners, minifridges, and other contemporary cooling gadgets, are purchased by customers from big-box retailers. Therefore, employees should get paid when they carry an item like a 60-pound lawnmower onto their truck on The Home Depot or Lowe’s lot.
Then how much? They make, on average, $10 per hour, so a tip of $10 might just make their day. When was the last time you brightened someone else’s day?
Appliance delivery guy
If someone has to carry a large, heavy package up some steps and into your home, whether it’s a new refrigerator, washer/dryer, dishwasher, air conditioner, or any other appliance, you should tip them. Carrying stuff is a hard job, even if you don’t have to climb stairs to get to your home. And given the labor involved, it merits a little extra money. Because they were charged a delivery fee, consumers occasionally don’t tip these kinds of delivery men. Even if there is a delivery cost when having pizza delivered to your door, you still give the delivery person a tip, right?
Then how much? Anywhere from $10 and $20 will demonstrate your appreciation.
Satellite and cable installers
They never arrive when they say they will! The pay-per-view channels aren’t all unlocked for you as they did at your parent’s house in 1997! And I agree that poor service is not worthy of a tip. However, occasionally cable technicians go above and beyond, particularly satellite installers who must mount a dish in some difficult-to-reach places, including your roof. You should take out your wallet if they take the time to install it and then teach you how to use your new DVR, or if they provide you with extra HDMI cables for no extra cost. The least you can do is reward the tedious labor that will eventually provide you and your housemates with millions of hours of amusement.
The airport shuttle driver
Even though you only live forty minutes away, airport vans are a convenient way to go to the airport in 3 to 4 hours. But they are so inexpensive! We love them because of this. However, we fail to consider the driver’s need for a living because we are so preoccupied with how inexpensive it is. You could not pay the driver enough to put up with listening to people’s harrowing travel tales while sitting in traffic all day.
Plumber
This is the FedEx argument once more: they are handsomely paid! They benefit immensely! Indeed, some do. What would you have to be paid, though, to deal with the s**t these plumbers deal with? That much, I’m sure. Even though Roto-Rooter claims to forbid tips, there are many freelance plumbers who deserving of extra pay for putting up with your shit.
Car wash employees
When I take my car to the car wash, no fewer than 17 individuals hand-wash the exterior and vacuum the interior. It’s an incredible sight. The workers are consistently prompt and effective. However, because there are lots of them, many automobile owners are discouraged from tipping at all because consumers are perplexed about who to tip. What happens if you don’t give the proper guy a tip? Give the money to the person who is delivering your keys. And they’ll make sure to split it among the 40 people that assisted him in giving your 2013 Ford Fusion a fresh new look.
Then how much? A basic wipe-down costs $2–3, while a more expensive wash costs $5–10.
